The Mater Hospital is the only Australian member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Centres (ISOC), an elite group of globally-recognised orthopaedic hospitals.

The ISOC is a forum in which members share information and ideas on patient care and education, and collaborate on research-based programs to advance orthopaedic care on a global scale. The Mater is part of this collective due to its ground-breaking research publications and stellar achievements in orthopaedics, many of which are supported by The Friends of the Mater Foundation.

Through the generosity of donors the Foundation is able to fund world-class research with international significance, maintaining the Mater’s position as a world leader in orthopaedics.
